I use boat trailer wheel bearing grease, advertised as water submersible. Exactly a year ago, I was caught in a flash flood up to my airbox near Lewiston Idaho. I did a wheel removal for inspection when I got home and it still looked as If I had just greased and assembled them. All of our wh. bearings are of the sealed variety, so grease those axles and seals, torque them up to spec and you have done about all you can do.
