Decided to have a little fun, so I plasti-dipped my America this weekend. As long as I don't spill fuel on it, it should last the summer, at least. Before: After:

What changes to your carb jetting were required after changing over to the 2 into 1 exhaust?

Dropped the main from a 150 to a 142. Been running without the baffle & it has felt a touch lean off idle cruising.. Plugs look the same, but mpg went from 42 to 46.
I still have TBS needles with one shim (same as before with the D&D's) so for a trial, I cut off most of the baffle & drilled a few extra holes hoping the added back pressure solves it... If not, I'll be pulling the baffle and adding a shim.

.... awww, that's kinda private...
Actually, it's TEC 2-1 for a Thruxton... There's a little "fitting" to do & you need to make two brackets, but it isn't terrible. You will lose the stock control location though.

I like it! Ya know, with that upswept exhaust it brings a Tbird esque look to it (old Tbird, not new).

Roughly, $9.00 bucks a can (I used 5 cans) + an extra can I still have. I also bought two "hi flow" nozzles that spray a little heavier than the ones that come on the can.. These were a big help and cost about $1.50
About everything you need to know is on this website & they sell the product in cans or for HVLP. Their You-Tube channel is helpful. I just used mineral oil & alcohol as a prep.

Couple of questions for you - 1 - How did the plastidip hold up? WOuld you do it again? 2 - On the original bike you have an America sticker on the cover under the seat, On the PlastiDipped bike you have a Triumph Triangle - where did you get the triangle ann how much was it?
Thanks Chuck

Ditto on the chrome fender.....pant pant Those rear controls look uncomfortable...especially for us long legged fellows. Don't your legs get tired?

I want the fender! I couldn't find a decent one when I looked back in 11 but since then forgot about it. Must look again. Here's his original thread about the fender ... Dardoonk's Chrome fender thread

I was thinkin' the same thing here, Greg. Especially with the low cut seat. And thus, this the reason I added a couple of inches in height to my seat a little while before I moved my controls to the middle like that.
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)
