Dwight, funny you should bring up McQueen, he is not only a Triumph icon, but he is also a ivy (preppy) icon, admittedly with a California flare.
Other ivy icons include Pres. Bush the elder, Cary Grant, Paul Newman, JFK and Bobby, Clark Gable. The list goes on, of course in about 1967 all bets were off, after that everyone wanted to dress like the Byrds or James Taylor.
