A young person not only aware but every moment into the latest trends in speech, music, clothing, and behavior. Just the coolest shirt or pants. Only particular music the "Informed" cool folks listen to.
In other words a rocker or a mod. A skater or a punk.
A hipster is so hip he or she looks just like the other hipster non-conformist. They will ride bikes nobody but their group has.
Scooter, Bonneville, Ducati, 1969 CB750, Harley 72.
Their politics is pretty much the 60s hippie. Government is bad, old people are out of touch, what the normals do is simply not for us. They lean liberal to anarchist in their social and political views. They don't appear to be dangerous in any way.
Saw one yesterday with his tight pants and designer shirt on a beautiful 650 Yamaha. A much much better bonneville knockoff than the new bonneville by the way.
---- When I think of hipsters I think of Carlton from Fresh Prince mixed with Roger Moore as Bond.-----
Dress so exactly toward the trends, do everything so nicely and so cool. Gay without the proclivity
Uh...I only saw the show a few times but I remember Carlton as being an ultra-conservative conformist with an out of date fashion sense and no clue as to what the kids of his generation were actually into (I guess that's redundant).
So, is a hipster Carlton...or the opposite of Carlton? A skater dude or a metrosexual? With a TBA and a Bonnie at my disposal I guess I could sneak in and spy on them.
Of course, somebody is bound to be doing that already.
From Wiki:
"Carlton is a quintessential preppy. While highly intelligent, many people find him annoying and arrogant. Like many of his social class, Carlton aspires to attend an Ivy League university; in earlier seasons, he states he aims to get into Yale University, but later fixes a determined focus on Princeton University, his father Philip's alma mater. Carlton is the heir apparent to the Banks assets, and probably the mansion grounds itself."
"Carlton is similar to Family Ties character Alex P. Keaton in many respects: he dresses in a preppy style, has conservative political leanings, is obsessed with college and his future career"
Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.
