The deadline for mailed entries was today. The announcement should be within 7 days, or by August 26.
There was also a similar contest on the History.com site which ended last week. No word on the announcement date for that Indian.
Uh yeah, I had googled, bingit, wikipedit,talked with in-laws, outlaws etc. and came up with the same vague timeframe you listed. The cut off date for registration is firm, the giveaway is, well, a bit vague
