I wasn't sure whether to add my two cents worth or not, but here it is. I am a traffic cop in greater Vancouver and sometimes ride one of our Harleys. The RCMP here in B.C. get the Harley FLX's. One of the bikes I have ridden is a 94 and is a real pig. It handles like a tank which when doing the obstacle courses winds up being lessons in eating pavement. Whether I'm on two or four wheels I look out for the moron cagers who seem don't see/care about bikes. Speeding isn't a big issue for me but those crotch rocket newbies (you know the ones who wear sandals, cut offs and short sleeve shirts) seem to ****** off many people I talk to and really give the rest of us a bad name. When I'm on the company bike I'll wave and talk to other bikers that I meet, no problem. Even though we ride Harleys kids seem to love the bikes my partner and I use these as an opportunity to promote safe motorcycling (can't start too young). Today I had an older guy stop and say how sorry he was that I was riding a Harley. When I told him that in 30 minutes I'd be on my Triumph he gave me a huge smile, shook my hand and said that he used to ride Triumphs back in the 60's. Ride safe brothers and sisters.
