Missoula PD has a similar arrangement with the local HD dealer, $1/yr or something similar. I think they have 6-8 bikes on the road. I like the idea of motorcops. Being rural mountain country, our local guys all drive 4WD Chevy's and Fords. I like to park near their motorpool and offer suggestions regarding basic transportation. Our undersheriff rides a mid 70's Norton, he doesn't need any convincing. Every time I see him, we have an obligatory 10-15 minute conversation on proper motorbikes .

Last year the Spokane PD took delivery of ~5 bikes from the Missoula HD dealer. They came through here on the way home and one officer cracked up on some late season gravel in the twisties (uninjured, but I can imagine the ribbing his buddies gave him).

Dwight - Now if that officer had been out in the parking lot drooling over your Triumph when you exited the courtroom a free man, that'd been the capper (or copper?).
