Yes.
The candy red over a gray gives you the darker Mulberry color. That same candy red over a light silver gives you Cardinal. At least based on what you said. I checked our paint formulas for each and the candy coats are similar but not exact. The Cardinal does in fact have a silver groundcoat and the Mulberry a gray groundcoat.
Or, since the fender and tank aren't right next to each other, you can try to have the red color matched as close as possible.
