Can anyone recommend a tank protector that would fit my 2011 America? I am interested in adding a cover that will protect the tank closest to the rider seat.Thanks!

Depends on what you are looking for, keep in mind some products will cause more damage if grit etc gets between the "protector" and the tank. I've used a product a couple of times called tank slapper purchased from Aerostitch.com It's a clear 3M film, applied with water and a credit card and easily peeled off. Oh, welcome aboard Kimmy.

Thanks for the reply. I kinda like the rubberized tank protector that Triumph makes for the Rocket III, or the carbon fiber one for the Speed Triple. I see that triumph makes a tank cover for the America, but am afraid that grit will get under it.

Try stopping by an auto detailer and see if they'll let you have a piece of laminate that they use to prevent stone chips on the front of cars. You won't need a large piece, maybe 3x5 inches.

True. Remember the "Le Bra" phase in the 80's when folks put those dumb black things on the nose* of their car to "protect" it, only to find out when they took it off it looked like 150 grit sandpaper had been all over it.
* the nose. an interesting place to put a bra. hmmmm.

go down to any 3M or equivalent dealer installer of the hood and fender protectors, ask if you can buy some of their scraps or end rolls which for them are not much use, might cost you 5-10 bucks or so, thats what i did and much of what really gets wacked or rocked is now covered and you would barely know it. Spray water (little bit of dish soap) peel the protectant apart, place on part, squeeze all the water out of the sides (credit card or something) let dry and the stuff darn near disapears, UV friendly and you can wax right over it.

those are a couple of great ideas i wish i'd considered before i put a huge gash into my own tank's paint.
