Just ground some sea salt into my unbolted grits and noticed the expiration (best by date) 08/2010 Really? Maybe they should pasteurize it. Take honey for example. Found in pharaoh tombs and still palatable. Yet today what do we do with honey? Pasteurize it! There is nothing more delicious than a glass of raw milk. (or at least within the confines of the AUP).

I dont think salt ever goes bad.
I add salt and sugar to my grits........I know right, I'm a hedonistic monster.
I like sea salt. No chemical taste like the other stuff.
We pasturize every thing and we ruin it. If ya ever had milk that hasnt been homogenized and pasturized just cold filtered. You would hate store bought.

So how much better are they without the "bolts"?
Sounds good. I MAY have to try them that way someday.

"Just ground some sea salt into my unbolted grits and noticed the expiration (best by date) 08/2010" Up north we are not so soffisticated we use a tie wrap rather then a bolt with our grits. I guess its a sign of the times. What's a grit?

If they were bolted wouldn't the salt, expired or not cause oxidation?

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Nice leadership on bringing us to consensus on the grits question, the answer is.....Marisa Tomei and Alyssa Milano.

Now DON'T you know I have a strict person rule about doin stuff like that around here!!!
Okay, alright...so my "personal rule" is somewhat more "flexible" than it REALLY is "strict".
But still, I gotta say that YOU are a bad influence around here, ya know!!!
(...btw...to answer your question, it would be Marisa for me, 'cause I think Alyssa has all those tats on her body, doesn't she?!...and I ain't into that kinda thing, ya know...but she IS pretty TOO, alright!

I like good ole American southern girls. Preferably a farm girl who can drive a tractor, catch a calf, throw a bail of hay, and shoot a shot gun.

Then here ya go, Chad. Yep, she's a whole lotta woman, alright! Basically, the guys here were sayin' that in your "dream girl" description you perfectly described that little girl with her own "Reality" Show, "Honey Boo Boo"'s mother...who pretty much is the "poster woman" for backwoods Americana. (...and no, I don't watch any of that kinda crap on TV either...I just know this 'cause for a while that little girl and her mother here made all the talk shows when they first gained a measure of notoriety and when their "15 minutes of fame" was at its peak)

The farm girls I know are not obese. They are usually fit to slightly on the big side. They usually can run , jump, swim, fish, hunt, fight, and put in a hard days work. Then dress up nice for a night on the town.

So Dwight let me see if I have this correct, you do not watch Honey Boob Boob but you are aware of her from the talk shows you watch? Maury Povich, Jerry Springer, etc By the way I'm fairly certain that creature you posted above would be the one abducted by Aliens, probed and return to earth

Eeh, ya see the PROBLEM with you guys that keep sayin' that IS that you either don't know or have forgotten that for EVERY moronic program such as this "Honey Boo Boo" crap and/or all those OTHER absolutely asinine so-called "Reality Shows", there IS "Frontline" on PBS, the Documentary Channel's programming, and Turner Classic Movie's selection of GREAT films, among many many OTHER more intelligently presented programming available. (...though yeah, as I've said many many times around here, a lot of the programming on that LAST one I mentioned is broadcast in B&W, and I KNOW how much that "turns off" so many of the No-Nothing kids out there today!!!)
