How do I know if the cush drive needs replacing?

No positioning of bike needed. Simple grasp the rear sprocket and rotate it fore and aft. You can't? your cush rubbers are tight. You can? Then how much? The more you can rotate the rear sprocket, i.e., the more play you have, the more snatch you'll have at take offs and hard roll ons. Prudence had about 1/2" play at 1,182 miles. She now sports a thunderbird cush drive.
