Last weekend, I went on a 2100 km cruse. Hit rain several times and had the same condition especially with all the misting kicked up by the transports. It wasn't electrical though. Every time the bike felt like it was running lean, I would crack the fill cap to the tank open and the problem would disappear. My gas mileage went way up also.

One of these days, I'm gonna relocate that fuel tank vent hose.

BTW, if you do trim the tank vent, make sure you don't mess with the float bowl vent hose close to it. You don't want that hose to be subject to air flow that could cause a vacuum, like I did last summer.
