The fact that you can start right up after the cut-out doesn't mean it's not an intermittent electrical problem. In fact it seems to indicate just that. Have you checked the cut-out switches mentioned? Can you give us more information about how it cuts out?
It could be a blocked fuel breather. That would probably cough a bit before it cuts out. Loosening the petrol cap when it cuts out would test for that.
