All I know is my grand kids know the difference between real guns and fake guns and know to make sure any gun they intend to handle is not loaded and never ever point one at any living thing. We have not gotten into self defense or hunting yet, that comes much later. They are not handling real guns yet but they know where mine are and are allowed to look at them if they ask and I am present. They are starting to learn the parts of the gun now.

I think any rule with no thought behind it is bad. I also think making such a big deal out of an orange piece of plastic is over the top insane and counter productive.

I learned all I need to know about life by killing smart people and eating their brains.
Eat right ,Exercise ,Stay fit, Die Anyway!
