My next project is to fit a spring solo seat to my 2007 America but I'm struggling to figure out how to do it. The only mounting kit I can find is from BellaCorse: http://www.bellacorse.com/bca008.htm but they are sold out until further notice....

I think the only way is to make something up but I'm just not sure how to do it. I don't want to drill the frame or weld anything to it so the only option might be to use the two fender bolts under the seat.

Does anyone have any pictures or ideas???

I asked a guy once on here to show me how it mounts and all you really need to do is cut a T shaped metal bracket and mount it to the 2 fender bolts under the seat. Each side will come out Left and Right and hold the springs. And the hinge piece mounted to the tank bolt like youre saying.

I wanna say it was either Kaisersoze or Mikey790 from here that had it. Not sure anymore, it was a while ago.

it would be way cool to do this and still retain the ability to put the gunfighter back on when the girlfriend wants to ride.

Steve, UNFORTUNATELY I've NEVER heard of a wife/girlfriend (or equivalent) that liked that damn Gunfighter seat.

I had to re-sell mine with less than ten miles of "additional ass" time on it.(took a 50% loss)

But good luck.

Yep, that's the way to go. Fairly easy to fab, and each ear of the "T" holds one of the springs. I've done this a couple of times using 1/4 steel, about 1 1/2 inches wide. If not a "t" shape, a "y" shape.

Thanks for the heads-up, had a look at the member rides forum and Mikey790 has the exact set up I'm looking at; dropped him a PM asking for further info on the set up.

Here's a look at plenty of options:
