Glad to see you are coming back to God's country.
I have stayed at the Marriott and it is very good, pretty flash and well located for the touristy thingo.
I have also stayed here and they had a great Irish pub,
http://www.gracehotel.com.au/and it appears to be a little more reasonable on the cost front. It is a short walk to Sydney Cove (Opera House, Bridge, The Rocks etc) also to Darling Harbour, for harbour cruises, and the city centre, (Town Hall and shopping precinct.)
