The wheel would have to come off...just enough to put the speedo drive back in....
Take the cable loose from the drive and at the meter....get something to turn the cable (you can do it by hand) and see if it turns at the other end of the cable...if it doesn't the cable is broken..
If I can find my speedo drive you can have it...will look this weekend
