For sure, a kid at work who recently started riding crashed a couple weeks ago. Guy backed out of his driveway at full speed and never looked where he was going. (my friend says he does it all the time and has almost run over kids and hit cars before) This guy came out from behind another car parked in his driveway and slammed into the side of his bike smashing his leg. he now has a rod in it ans is on crutches.

This is EXACTLY what happened to my son Steven in Feb. of 2012. Only he was on my 10-speed pedal bike. A retired Orange Co. Deputy Sheriff lives across the street and witnessed the whole thing. He said the unlicensed driver always backs out fast, without looking. Steven "face planted" through the rear side window. Medical pro's said he could have snapped his neck and died instantly. The retired sheriff said while Steven was out of his wits, bloodied face filled with glass, the driver was screaming at him a he laid on the pavement. I'm glad I wasn't on scene and witnessed that, as my actions (upon her) would have been from temporary insanity. Steven's face will be scarred for life. As a male, it's a little easier for him to deal with that. As a father, I'm still not over the TOTAL disregard for his well being displayed by this B1TCH!

Nope! Unlicensed and uninsured. Owns NOTHING! She got ticketed for being at fault, but they couldn't ticket or arrest her for driving w/o a license, cause they (police) didn't witness it. Our attorney had to sue US (our insurance) to get our uninsured/underinsured coverage to cover the medical bills. And what I know from past experience with my wife, more health issues WILL come up when he ages. WTF!

But ya know what, WE'RE STILL BLESSED!
Probably live better and have less sorrow in our lives than 90% of the worlds population.
We have an unbroken love for each other, and no one is suffering greatly. (lack of a better word)
We are family, we will stand strong!

Long time ago, when I was a naive yute, I was rear ended by an unlicensed, uninsured driver that relied on the State of Florida for all of his income. When I took him (and the officer who failed to ticket him) to court, I was enlightened by the judge as to the realities of the law.
Irresponsible leeches aren't held accountable! (His exact words were far more concise, but would not now be politically correct.)
I hope Steven's injuries don't come back to haunt him.

Geez Earle, that's a rough story. Only consideration is, I'm pretty sure her Karma will catch up to her. If she even has enough smarts to understand how her life sucks.

There were a few idiots who were in the habit of running a stop sign some 4 miles from here. The east/west highway had a 55 MPH speed limit as did the north/south road with the stop sign. They are slowly dieing off. One killed himself and a carload of kids. That prompted the county to put in a series of wake up bumps ahead of the stop signs. The result was a number of idiots driving on the wrong side of the road and nearly crashing head-on. Second idiot ran the stop and got nailed by a Wally world truck. I haven't seen the third idiot for some time, so he either moved or wiped out someplace else. 2 more are still running stop signs.

I doubt this female POS will ever have her head in reality. Another story. Years ago, lived on the other side of the tracks from the main road. Our neighbor was always racing the train to the crossing, I think just for fun. You guessed it, he finally didn't make it. He sued the train co., but more than a few of his neighbors, including me, did a telephone interview with the RRs legal team. He got nothing. The real stinker in this is that he had his little girl in the car with him. I think that's what made us testify against him. Lost his license for a year.

My newest rant is those who remain blissfully unaware when an Ambulance/Rescue Unit or Fire Truck is coming up behind them. Even without all the lights, sirens and horns, people should see them coming. Lately, I've seen a number of clueless idiots - one just the other day who changed lanes into the fast lane in front of a hauling ass fire truck. If not for the quick response of that fire truck driver, that Subie would have been squashed!

I see ambulances stuck at the end of the road across the street from me all the time because the A**holes driving up the road in front of my house don't stop to let them out. I am talking lights and siren too.

I know a lot of people who run the signs out on gravel roads. The theory seems to be that if you can't see any dust there's no one coming.
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

Sounds like a bad idea to me.
I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago.

I remember doing that but it was a long time ago, way out in the country and we could recognize who was coming by the signature of the dust cloud. Of course, if you misjudged, you always had a lot of real estate to run off into. But then there was that little thing that when we were driving, we weren't doing anything else but driving.
Around here, those days are long gone.

We did the same thing in Corn country, Indiana, as we would approach a 4 way stop at a section corner, turn off the head lights, see no approaching headlights, hammer down. We were just plain lucky as I look back.

Be aware of golfers trying make a t-off time I know, one almost got me a few years ago and had to lay the bike down. It is not unusual to be running late for a t-off and nothing better get in a golfers way so when approaching the entrance to course parking have an eye. I do my best not to be that golfer.
