Call your local machine shop and locate someone who has a EDM setup. EDM stands for Electrical Discharge Machining. They could remove your problem (broken tap) and you wouldn't even have to remove your grip. Basically a precision Air Arcing metal removal process using water instead of compressed air to vacate the unwanted material, with total heat control.
