Yeah I know the P Pad I made looked pox. Yes it would have been better had it been placed on the lounge as a frilly pillow.

Sharp knife and scissors attacked the frills today. De-frilled.

What a chump I am. I cut an inch off the western bars. Thought this was a good idea at the time. Ha! The throttle assembly ended up being too tight as it was resting on a bend. So could not turn the throttle grip at all.

So bought some Biltwell 8" Chumps and natural colour Kung-fu grips.

I had already moved the brake and throttle cables over to right hand side to allow for taller bars.

The Chumps give a great riding position too.

Cheers mate. I sure love this bike.

The Chumps are something I put off getting for a bit now. So glad I got them now. They look great. They feel great.

Things I plan to do.

Posh Handle bar switchs , for both sides, with all wiring run through the handlebars.

Biltwell Whiskey throttle or one like it.

Front brake lever and resivour replacement. Maybe.

Make a bigger set of saddlebags. Like these.

Different sissy bar. Like on deuk's bike.

Airbox removal and relocate battery. Again like deuk's.

And finally a hardtail frame kit.

Better run for a hardtailed frame than cut the original one.

As often as you changed some parts of your bike, you probably will not like it and than there will be no way back...

And you will get a shorter wheelbase then with the hardtail-kit

See your choice

The image I put up was just an example. The second one you linked is really nice.

I agree with the frame. Hard tailing is a long way off on this bike. More a dream you could say.

Nearly 6 months of ownership have gone by now. I have done just over 6000kms in this time. Bike has not let me down once. Not refused to start once. I am more than pleased with it.

Stripped back now. If need be I can add sissy bar, touring seat and saddlebags in around 20 minutes.

I bought a set of La Rosa Saddlebags and mounting frames of a guy on eBay. What a great transaction this was. The way it should be. Simple. Good communication. Done deal.

Got the bags home and 2 hours later they are mounted. Bagger Speedmaster now.

The never ending fiddle.

Yes I know I can't leave it alone. My Trumpy that is.

Today I relocated the indicators from up off the handle bars to down to the top triple tree. Why? Cause I can't stop fiddling with the bike.

Had to cut the indicator wires to be able to pull them out of the hardness wrapping. Re-solder them back in lower down. They now run from the connectors in the headlamp bucket.

Had to rework the indicator hanger brackets to fit where the wire guide was for the cables etc. Some drilling and cutting was required.

Bolt the indicators in place and the handle bars are slowly getting a cleaner look to them.

The brown is gone. long live the brown.

My low rider seat is no longer brown. It is now black. Some black leather dye took care of the brown.

MICRO BEND-A-LICIOUS APES! From Zombie performance

I wanted bars that have some bends to complement the curves of the bike.

This guy hand makes great handle bars. Bought a set of MICRO BEND-A-LICIOUS APES! from Steffan @ Zombie Performance

So off came the Biltwell Chumps.

I wanted some small ape bars that more of a curve to them. The curves on these are rounder than a child bearing mummies hips.

Also got a set of Biltwell Recoil grips to go with these bars.

My Speedy is again Fat Arsed. Got a Yamaha pillion seat pad, sissy bar and Honda sissy bar pad fitted. That way I can still use my Maverick low rider seat when Jan is on the back. The Triumph touring seat is really comfy for Jan but I really don't like my part of the seat. Got some Arlen Ness mirrors.

Fat Arse can be stripped off in a matter of minutes now when I just want a solo set up.

Also picked up a trench art brass Spitfire from eBay. Fitted to the back of the sissy bar. Not going to polish it up. I like the look of the old pantina.

Four bolts and its solo again. With added sissy bar.

Take one bottle of Spitfire Ale.

Drink the bottle till empty. Put empty bottle in recycle bin.

Take the cap. A stainless steel bolt and a large washer. Attached the cap to the washer. Peen over the edges of the cap around the washer which has the stainless steel bolt through it.

You now have a hand made choke knob that cost around $10.

Take the bike's choke knob off. Fit the one you have just made.

Bought a can of Foliatec Spray Film from Repco today. Same as Plastidip.

This stuff is a plastic film. Coated the chrome headlight shell in some black gloss. My spraying may not have been the best. Its black now. Might do the forks next.

Next is to see if some 1970s triumph handlebar p clamps will work.

Then have a go at making a funky sissy bar.

It's just shocking.
No I have not had an electrical problem with the Speedmaster.

I have had a shock fix.

Got some Hagon 2810 shocks fitted this evening.

I ordered these through Fast Eddy in the USA. You also have to supply him with the following:

"Your weight
Style of riding: Aggressive, normal, easy.
Pillion weight: How often you carry a passenger.
Desired height: Stock, -1/2 inch from stock, - 1 inch from stock.
Weight of gear: Solo and or with pillion and how frequently you travel this way."

He then gets them custom made for you. He is a great guy to deal with too.

As it was late here this evening when I fitted them I wont know what the ride quality is like till the morning. I think they will be way better than the stock shocks that came with the bike. They were getting very sad in a shocking way.

Yep I admit it. I am a handlebar w(h)ore. I can't get enough of them. Their curves and bends speak to me. I seem to change them every other month.

As much as I loved the Zombie Performance Mirco Bend-a-lious bars I have replaced them. That didn't take long hey.

Gracing the bike now is a set of original Harley Sportster Buckhorn style bars. By far they would have to be the most comfortable ones I have fitted. Did close to 300kms today, highway and suburban riding. No numb hands. Every bar I have fitted so far has caused some form of numbness in my hands. Thats would be more position of the my hands and wrists. Not so these Harley bars.

Thew a set of Biltwell Polished Slimline risers on too. Retro look they give to the triple clamp now. To torment my mates I have red grips again. Biltwell Ox Blood Recoil grips.

I ran some wet and dry over the bars. Gives the chrome that brushed steel look. The leather between the risers is to hide the knurling that the risers don't cover.

America risers. Too chunky.

Billtwell Slimline.

2 up mode.

Put the small round mirrors on.

Pull into a parking spot this morning and as I apply a small amount of rear brake I hear a very slight grinding noise. Shudder I know that sound. I peer down into the darkness of the rear brake caliper and oh ******. There is almost no pad material showing.

Ride to local Triumph dealer. Do not use rear brake. Ride home with new pads in saddle bags. Do not use rear brake.

Fit new pads. Find that this is the easiest pad change I have ever done on a bike. Thank you tea drinkers of Hinckley.

The original pads latest just over 16000 kms.

Chain needed a tighten. Twice in 10000 kms. I think the chain oiler is helping.

Also replaced the spark plugs. They were about 11000 kms old. Amazing what a computer can do for your fueling. They don't look too bad. Noticed that she runs a bit better with new plugs.

How clean does the wheel stay with the oiler on the bike? Have thought about them before but always worried about excessive oil on the rear wheel.

I changed my plugs out for the iridium tipped ones. Made a difference to starting from cold for sure and supposed to last 50k km+.

With the oiler it depends on how much oil you let flow. I get more oil coming out from the front sprocket cover than on the back tyre. My oiler works on motion. This is the one I use. -> Chain Oiler <-

This is it when I had it fitted to my Bandit.

Just the one I'm looking at.
