I had a similar problem last year. After replacing my headlight bulb I kept blowing the fuse for my signal and brake lights. I must have spend 15-20 hours trying to track down the problem. Eventually, after reassembling everything for the 20th time the fuse stopped blowing. I don't know what the actual problem was nor am I willing to go looking for the reason. Sorry not much more help.
