I’m hoping you guys can help me with a problem I’ve encountered.
Here’s the story so far….I decided to change the turn signal lens covers from the stock amber to clear lenses.
The bulbs that were supplies with the new lenses were tight fit so to make things easier I removed the bulb holder, inserted the new bulb and reconnected the 2 wires.
I changed the front right lens first and after completing the change I checked to see if all was ok…all was good.
I then did the same on the rear right signal then checked to see if all was OK….it wasn’t…. the turn came once and that was it. I did hear a small pop so I assumed that a fuse had blown.
The fuse was changed and it happened again….and again…and again
I thought that I may have reconnected the wires the wrong way around so I swapped them over, tried again and the same thing happened so I changed them again.
On the back of the bulb holder are the letters “B” and “W” so I’m assuming the black wire connects to the terminal marked B and the white wire connects to the terminal marked W?
The fuses keep popping and I’ve tried every combination of changing wire positions to try and get these working but I’m not having any luck. I understand the Horn is somehow connected to the turn signals and this is working fine so I’m a little confused about what I’ve done to cause this problem.
Now another issue has cropped up…..the bike won’t start…..everything was fine until I decided to change these blasted lenses.
My mechanical and electrical skills a pretty much non-existent so I’m hoping you guys can give me some help.
