If you see one driving under the speed limit it has more to do with the driver timidity or they have an insufficient vehicle towing it.

Or they're trying to save fuel. I usually cruise at 60-65 mph to get that elusive 8 mpg , but will hustle along at 75 mph if that's what traffic demands. Over 80? go around!

And even though I can hustle through the twisties at or above the posted speed limit, I do pull off secondary roads if any vehicles back up.

And Dwight, I had to laugh at your scooter experience. I did the same thing 2 weeks ago on my morning Cup 'o Joe run to McDonalds. Riding the Big Ruckus, I made a tight u-turn and tried to feather the throttle/clutch/rear brake. OOPS - NO CLUTCH (and linked brakes)! I stayed up, but it was NOT graceful. Damn teenagers watching too.

My retirement plan is one of them buses with a nice toy hauler big enough to haul a car and two motorcycles. Roll all over the country driving Kevin nuts.

LOL Chad, I like your sense of humor!

We'll be keeping you busy since our retirement plan is to roll all over the country on 2 wheels.

Only 7 years to go...

Sounds good.
We've been meaning to return to Fort Worth for a steak or four and hit Shiner to see the brewery.

Latest twist. I hear this nice rumble and I stroll through the woods to see this nice Ducati in my next door neighbor's drive.

I DO know this guy's name.

Our neighborhood is becoming very motorcycle active and not a one of them are Harleys.

I like this place more every day.

No word from 'scooter guy' but Ruthie is betting he buys a golf cart. She's rarely wrong.

Well, don't count your chickens before they're hatched here, Chet! You DO know The Motor Company ALSO makes golf carts, don't ya?!

(...btw, what model Duc does your neighbor own?)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Just caught a glimpse as it scooted down the road. I'm eager to investigate, though. It looked/sounded nice.

We're approaching critical mass on our little road. Nearly as many homes with motorcycles as without and they're all pretty sweet rides.

I don't know much about Ducatis but, from looking at their current lineup, maybe a Hypermotard 796.

I hope it belongs to my neighbor and it wasn't just a drifter passing through town.

Perhaps this is what your neighbour is looking for in a ride. (pardon the Marilyn Manson-esque background music)

It's a Hypermotard 803. I checked it out today. Get this, he says, "I'd like you to ride it. I don't know much about bikes. Any time you want to take it out just come on up."

I replied, "I'd like me to ride it, too."
