I was interested in the parabellum shield for my 07 america. I think it looks the best out of all the ones I've seen. Does anyone have an opinion on this shield? Also will it fit my 07? Quailty? thanks all.

Charly Perethian has a stellar reputation. I was really interested in his shield a few years ago, but they never could establish whether there would be interference with the auxillary driving lights on my '06 America.

There is a member here that used his bike as a prototype for Parabellum, so I know they fit and look good, (but he didn't have the extra lights). Cathy (I think was her name) offered a full refund if it didn't work, but I got impatient and since I already had the Roadster brackets, went with the Clearview replacement screen. If I had it to do over - especially if I didn't have the brackets, I'd give the Parabellum a try.

My only opinion is its Acrylic. Polycarbonate is 20x stronger. Meaning that big rock, bolt, whatever at speed won't get to you with Polycarbonate. Acrylic shatters.

They look really good.

Ah, tapered shrouds. They can be swapped I believe, if you want to go to the trouble.

Sorry to revive this. When I bought mine, they said it would fit the speedmaster. It won't unless you move the signal lights.
It also won't fit the tapered shrouds.
I made my mounts and was never happy with the screen set-up.

I loved the screen, and Charly will bend over backwards to help you, but it is Acrylic, and will crack if abused.

I am replacing mine because of this. It's cracked at the mount. (it took some serious abuse)

How were the aerodynamics of the shield? I always wondered, since that was Charly's specialty.

I had the fly screen previously, which was basically for show. I really like the Parabellum. Although mine is too tall for me. As far as aerodynamics go, I couldn't really tell much difference in handling characteristics between it and the fly screen except in crosswinds. It does have some more drag, but not very much in my opinion. I did still get buffeting until I installed some lowers.

Thanks. Riding my low COG, 70+mpg @ 65mph+ Big Ruckus has made me think more and more about streamlining. I don't want to go all the way with the Vetter Challenge, but the concept is intriguing. I would definitely love to get my hands on one of Fred Hayes's diesels.

i am a fan of the clearview shields, they are a nice shield, made to fit most of our oem brackets and a decent enough price.
