My drive can be as little as 15 minutes to as long as a few hours. Granted I chose where I go day to day. I have driven as far as 100+ miles a day for work when I was assigned to a location. You gotta do what you gotta do.

For the last 27 years, I drove just over 25 miles each way. I found it therapeutic to be able to plan my day on the way in and then unwind and chill before I arrived home to whatever the wife had planned for the evening. I also do a lot of wandering when I drive; the "I wonder where that road goes?" variety. To me the bigger issue is whether your commute would be highway or stop-and-go traffic. I can't stand traffic, so when I had one of those commutes, I either stayed late at work or stopped off at a lounge with co-workers until the traffic had cleared. My boss at that job always bought the first round. Now I just commute to the sofa.

Ya i hear ya....good opportunity, in terms of what i do for a living it would be the top of the tree, as far up as i could go. The drive is actually all freeway, no lights at all all the way so its not a "come one you moron" drive! LOL

Same drive to work for the last 33 years. 20 minutes traveling 30 kms one way on the highway. I agree with Steve about the therapeutic value of the drive but when winter storms hit..... it's a pain in the old backside. That's when the therapeutic value drops to -1. When I can ride my America into work in the summer....heaven

My commute is about 22 miles one way. It takes 30-40 minutes. I'm lucky that I only have to go into the office once or twice a week.
My wife's commute is 60 miles one way, an hour if she's lucky. It seriously sucks for her.
Good luck!

I have a 70 mile round trip. I hate it bad but there is nothing close by that pays well at all.My first 13yrs in the adult work force were spent walking 3 minutes to work.

I ride 25 miles about 30 mins each way. I agree the ride is a nice wind down. Of course always better on my bike. I used to ride 3 miles to work. 5 years now been making the longer trip.

From bed to work? about 30'0" When I have to go to site, anywhere from 120 miles round trip to 350 miles round trip. If I'm lucky, 20 miles round trip (doesn't happen very often). Worst was probably 195 miles each way to do 40 mins work while there

No commuting here. My house is my workplace.
Loving it!
I've spent so much time commuting in Canada, sometimes up to 3 hours, in the sun, rain or snow. Been an on-the-road salesman too, pretty much all day in my car.
I hate traffic... despise it would be more precise.

Because I'm a general contractor, the distance differs most every day. But the gasoline bill for my work truck averages about $400 dollars a month! Takes a big chunk out of my wages and there is nothing I can do about it. My truck has tool boxes and there is no getting anything smaller.

Mike, before the North Henday was completed, it would take me anywhere from 30-60 minutes depending on the season. With the north Henday open, 15 minutes door to door.
The drive shouldn't matter if you enjoy where you are going. I don't mind the drive at all...especially in the summer on my bike!
Any day on my bike is the best day ever! That would be my custom painted 2007 Speedmaster or my 2002 Daytona 955i also known as my salt racing bike!

170 miles to the bus lot, then we head out to venues across the continent. Takes about 2 and half hours one way. Usually I'm out for three shows and two travel days and then it's 170 miles back home.

I used to commute about 13 miles, now its about 4. Same company, but better location. It's much better. The commute isn't so bad, because I can be in at 8ish, with no worries. Of course, I may travel all around the county and beyond depending on what work brings me during the day.

Similar to me (I'm 2 miles by car and up to 100 miles by bike).

About 17 miles(25 minutes) from Sedona to Cottonwood, two or three times a week, and almost always in great weather. Oh, wait, sorry. That's how far I either ride or drive to get to my tennis matches...not work. Retired now, remember?! (...sorry, couldn't resist)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

32 miles, on an average day 1.5 hours each way. Some day's much worse.
