Seriously though, he knows as much as anybody around here and is a serious rider. My two cents. If you can find a slightly used one, the savings can be large. And don't be afraid of the carbs on an older bike. They are pretty good. Most of us have never had any trouble with a carbed bike. Keep us posted about your shopping luck. We love to see another friend on a like bike. Especially if it's one of the really rare and collectable RED ones!
