You will do well with Dave helping you find the right bike and the right deal. Take advantage of having a smarticle like him close to you. And don't pay a grand on top. Have them give you a grand in equipment (helmet, jacket etc). Which Dave will convince you is best spent on shiny bits
or going with a gently used one is safe too. I'm at 15k trouble free miles.
