AAA, AMA, who do you guys use? What to look for, what to look out for? Any good benefits to particular programs? I'd never had anything outside or warranty. Getting ready for trip state-side, expect no problems, but I never know.

The AMA isn't bad, as long as you're not far from a shop if you need help.
Long story short, after learning a couple of lessons I upgraded to AAA Plus RV. I hope I never neeed to use them.
Happy trails and safe travels!

I joined AMA last year. Partly to support the organization, occasional discounts and for some roadside service options. I have chosen to travel on the motorcycle on the last several trips instead of the car. Have not needed any roadside assistance, yet. Not really sure how good it is. If you travel in several vehicles AAA my have it's benefits. edit: somehow left out several words must still be early.

We have used CAA, AAA affiliate forever. Plus version. Paid for itself in spades and they repaid me for a tow truck from an independent when I dropped the Speedie avoiding a golfer trying to make a T off time. I assume the rules in the states are the same not had to test it yet.

The best value I've had is just a simple roadside addendum to my insurance. 8 bucks every 6 months is cheap.

The AMA has never let me down. I should say, it's never let my kids down. They don't turn a profit on my subscription. They came to my daughter's aid at 3:00am in the middle of nowhere.

Another AMA member here. Fortunately, I've never needed their service. If you have auto-renew, they'll cover all vehicles including trailers & motor homes. Something I wish I had remembered when I had a tire blowout in SouthCarolina last week.
The wife has carried AAA for years and the nice thing is that they'll work with any vehicle the member is with. She's helped out more than one neighbor by just going over to their house and making the call (dead batteries, flat tires, etc.).

Signed up for AAA Plus RV, hope i never need it, included wife and daughter. AAA really came through on Christmas Day with my daughter, after some issues... Wouldn't come if the person that made the call was not there, daughter is a nurse, had to get to work, I was going to wait... no, had to cancel request, call again and it was the same tow truck driver, very pissed he was with me..... but, everyone safe, home and at work...

I have AAA RV Plus. 4 tows a year. I just used one on Sunday. Actually, most of my vehicles have been on the back of a AAA truck at some point, even the bike for a short trip.
Always remember to be yourself. Unless you suck. Then pretend to be someone else.

AMA covers not only you but any household members, including children away at college, for the one base price.

Well if you do need it for any reason you've got it with Harley. First year free and you can continue the coverage and other benifits as long as you want.
Triumph should offer similar programs. There are entire states without a Triumph dealer and towing is not covered under Triumph warranty.

This is exactly why you need AAA Plus RV. If you are a long-distance rider, sooner or later you may need help in the middle of nowhere, far from a dealership.

I just switched my insurance from State Farm to Nationwide and roadside assistance was part of the plan.
'06 TBA - Black, AI and Snorkel removed, K&N Drop In, Gutted Stock Pipes, 145/42, 2 turns out.

What's the distance limit on the tow?

Not in the U.S. From Triumph warranty terms: Quote:
7. The warranty does not cover the cost of transportation of the machine to or from the authorized Triumph dealer, or expenses incurred while the machine is off the road for warranty repairs.
Also interresting: Quote:
3. The machine must have been serviced by an authorized Triumph dealer, at the intervals specified in the Triumph Owners Handbook and the service log completed accordingly.
Of course I don't think they actually enforce that stipulation considering the Magnuson-Moss act.
