I use an 18mm deep socket that I got at Sears, it's pretty thin and I'm not sure a fatter socket would fit in the well. After the plug is freely turning I put a short section of tubing (maybe 3 or4 inches) over the insulator and unscrew it the rest of the way by hand. I'm sure everyone has a different technique but that works for me.

Same here on sears 18mm. Helps if you removed the air intake tube things next to the plugs. If not its a tight fit. And anti seize for next spring is a nice treat to yourself.

Most of us, with carbs, have already ripped out the air injector contraption. I don't know how it affects the newer fuel injected bikes.

The anti-seize is a good idea. I didn't think of that. Thanks !!!
