I do apologize to everyone wanting the midsets (at least that's what i call them). There's only one of me and enough work around the house for 10 of me. Plus the WORLD CUP has just begun and it only shows up every 4 years, anyway i'll dedicate some more time to the brackets. I bought some 1/2" thick aluminum a few weeks ago to make them from. Des.

Today i received two emails from Kurt Darden aka dardoonk the original designer of the midsets. He sent me pictures and drawings of the brackets and then he called me on the phone and we talked for 45 minutes. He's given me the ok to use his design and make any modifications that may be needed so people can use their original gearshift and brake assys.
He's had some health issues which he's recovered from and is doing ok now. We are going on vacation soon and will be fairly close to where he lives in North Carolina so i may get to meet him. I've offered him my services as a machinist in return for passing the info. onto me. I told him that "if you can dream it, i can probably make it for you".
Just thought i'd pass the info along for people who know him.

It's been a long time, but I am happy to see someone is willing to pickup on my brackets. I've passed along my drawings. I've linked a couple pics below from a weekend at Deal's Gap last month. You'll see mine are set pretty far back, but they could be made a bit more forward, but would need different rear-sets (mine are from a 'busa) and probably set a little farther out. In hard riding, my left tow scrapes if left under the shifter, so my toes are back on the peg in the pic. I had to remove those inch long feeler things too. I can "almost" get to the edge of the tread (Conti RoadAttack 2) I am running right now.

I need to find out the types of finish people would want on the brackets. They will be made from Aluminum with a variety of finishes.
Powder coated ( any color you desire).
Unfinished ( just plain aluminum).
Polished.
Jewelling/engine turned ( overlapping circles).
If any one has any other ideas let me know Des.

Just do them plain aluminium. Black or clear. Usually frames (where they are mounted to) are black...

First off glad to see that you are up and about. Didn't you come up with a front brake bracket that allow you to mount 4 piston bakes?

Yes, I run a Thruxton front rotor & a left 4 pot lifted of a Thunderbird (new one). It clears the front spoke by a little more than a quarter inch.

@duck: Not as I know. There are still no readymades available. Nearest thing are the ones from Norman Hyde and eve they got less and less to sell. Our bike is not in production anymore, so special parts are not produced anymore. Most of these relocation brackets weren't any real Mid-Pegs, just about 10cm (bout 3inches) closer to the rider.
But it is not so hard to produce one for yourself, you need sheet metal or thick aluminum to produce a plate (fixed mostly to the holes where the passenger foot pegs are mounted) and the place the original footpegs on these plates, finde a long enough linkage or use an exiting one from a donor bike and there you go...
All in all a two-day job if you got some low fabricating skills (including buying the stuff you need).
BUT: Make a cardboard mock-up first, measure twice before fabricating and make REALLY sure that the Plates are strong enough. Otherwise you shifter gear will break down and baddest thing: YOUR BRAKE WILL FALL OF!
So beware if you foo this by yur own - get some help by someone who knows what to do if you do not feel good about it.

Resurrecting the thread, I'm looking to add an extra set of pegs at the mid point. " not relocating the entire brake and gear shifter"
Just a second set to take some pressure off the tail bone. I believe Chy and a few others have this set up. Anyone one have any information on this mod? Pictures, and old set of brackets laying around your parts bin maybe?

Just came upon this thread and need to let everyone know that i never got around to making the "mid mount" brackets that i said i would. My wife died in January this year and i have just fell apart, so much that when i told my son in law to move out of my house due to him verbally abusing me that i snapped, the situation turned VERY ugly and this time last week i was put in jail. Bailed out after 3 days but have been charged with two Felony's and two Misdemeanors. I have retained an attorney that is confident that he can keep me out of prison. Can't say any more on the issue but obviously i am not able to proceed forward and make them.
