The bolts merely secure the shocks on their posts, do the mount tabs on the ring go behind/inboard the shocks?
Nope... it bolts onto the outside flange of the upper shock mounting pegs.It takes a good amount of effort to remove the shocks from their mounts so they don't just fall off.. I've installed several of them, takes about five minutes.
