Yeah Jeff. I hear that old Asian cultural idea that only "the lower rung such as field workers have suntans" is still deeply imbedded over there.
In fact, one of our neighbors, an older Asian lady who walks the neighborhood daily is always all done up just like you said your mother-in-law is.
