I bought the billet manifolds from tpusa, and installed them this week. They look and work great. I can tell that the bike's running a little leaner now because I have more popping on deceleration. The problem I'm having is clearance. My carbs are sitting a little higher than before, and are pushed further out from the motor. No issue on the right hand side, but on the left hand side I don't have room for my K&N cone filter to fit. I'm thinking about ordering a set of UNIs, but I'm worried those won't fit either. Velocity stacks also crossed my mind, but I'm concerned about how they'll do in the rain. Any suggestions?

What are the filters hitting? Can you snap a pic?

it should fit, i have the freak kit and the Billet intakes and everything seems to fit just fine. Could be thet BC intakes are slightly different, i know that TPSU billets are more desinged to run the 34mm carbs and force the filters up a bit, but they should still fit.

I'm thinkin the TPUSA manifolds are straight where as the BC manifolds have a slight angle downward when installed.

The uni's will still get squashed in there but seal fine unless you tear them. There shape will return when you clean them.

The left K&N hits the frame, due to the motor being offset to the right. I tried bending it slightly to no avail. The right one just barely clears. The tpusa manifolds are definitely at a downward angle. I ordered a uni for the left side and plan to run a uni on the left & a K&N on the right. The uni looked more flexible, so here goes nothing. I want to keep the K&N on the right because it sticks out more. I ride in the rain and use a pre filter to keep the moisture out.

running two different pod filters is not a good idea there are differences with flow volume for each brand

I am running the uni's with the freak kit and TPUSA manifolds. My left side is all bent and twisted. This is because of the freak kit.The filter will come back to its shape after washing. The right side is fine.I think running no freak or side covers/cheese graters, the uni's will fit very well.Somthing to think about if you are running the Freak kit. good luck
