Hi has anyone purchased a BA Workshop manual. They are quite expensive and I'm wondering are they suitable for home maintenance or really designed for the service department :

Get one man. They are invaluable if you plan to do your own work. Keep an eye out here and on ebay. I got mine used for $50. I think retail is around $90.

The new ones (ring binder) list for $80.00 U.S. It's loaded with valuable information even if you don't do the more technical stuff yourself. Worth every penny!

yeah I just flipped thru mine and it looks great!! If mine ever starts falling apart I think I'll take it to Kinkos and have them punch holes in it for me.

You just gave me a thought! We have a GBC machine at work, punches multiple holes and puts on a plastic binder ring. Might be just the ticket. I always open mine to the right page, turn my back and it folds shut.

Well there ya have it! Mine is still pretty new, but once it starts going I may do that, or if it annoys me Then I would just have to figure out how to cut off the glue.

Love mine, had it open all weekend. I will wait for opinions on the Haynes. But if you can get a shop manual and like doing your own work then get one.

Benny, use a tablesaw with a plywood blade. I did that once with a manual for my old Nova.

I use mine all the time, very valuable tool. Get one.

Yesterday I was going through Jane's Honda manual to do some woprk on her bike (to get it to go slower than mine ) and I could not believe the difference in the manuals. The Honda shop manual is far far superior to the Trump one. There is literally every single spec you could need, even dimensions for every single part on the bike. You could use it to have a machinist make almost any part you needed. Tons more technical information and well laid out. AND all part numbers.

On a scale of 1-10 for information:
Honda manual 10
Triumph manual 7

But, I still recommend getting one if you plan on doing your own work.

A word to the wise is not necessary. It is the stupid ones who need the advice. Pat

Get the Haynes manual for the pictures, get the Triumph one for the accuracy. With the two of them there are few jobs on your bike that you would not feel confident in tackling. The factory manual is a bit short on illustrations and the Haynes ones are notoriously short on accuracy because they usually start with a manual for something else. Then they replace most, but not all the differences.
