Spruce him up, put him in designer clothes. Make him look really slick and give him something to put a permanent smile on his face, then televise his "new look".
This (his apparent "sell-out") will have an enormous tangible effect (disillusionment) on his like-minded brethren.
It also means you don't dirty your hands.
