Hi, My recent acquisition didn't come with an owner's manual. What is the recommened service manual. I know on vehicles, some of them can be pretty generic, and not of much use.
I have an '03 America

I recommend both the Haynes & Triumph factory manuals.

I could not agree more but if you can only do one do Haynes. Its more useful (IMO) for the weekend wrench.
I only started using the Triumph manual when I started digging into the motor.

You NEED to come down to Florida this time of year. The riding is GREAT!

We have the infamous "Tail of the Gator".

"11 curves in 318 miles", and did I mention the weather!??

Manufacturer's manual. I hate the haynes manuals. The manufacturer manual is not as user friendly but has actual useful info, where the haynes has very little.

My main riding buddy bought a bigger Garley last year. He had the manual and complete service record for his trade-in, to pass on to the next owner.
The sales rep wasnt even slightly interested in taking them.

I think it really depends on your level of experience. The Haynes has pictures and some explanations the the shop manual doesn't. (at least the old Haynes did) That can be a big help to the inexperienced. I use the shop manual and that has all I need in it but you need some mechanical know how to use just that.

I totally agree with Ian. The factory book is great if you're already well practiced at mechanics. The Haynes, due to its reverse engineering approach, is much better as an instructional work. The two together make a fine complimentary pair, each with its own strengths.

I'm a very, very amateur mechanic. Haynes is my book of choice. I'm an illustrator, more pictures the merrier I say.
