I have the small oval (I think) nice support for the lower back. Angle is adjustable so you can pick how much push you want on it. 99% of the folks in the Nor'Easter last year had a slightly wobbly mounting tho, so we got a handfull of lock washers for the mounting bolt and it's fine now.
I think this is the best shot I have. I have a straight on profile shot in my gallery too.

As I recall the support bar sits at one of two fixed heights. The backrest angle to the support bar is adjustable. The only fore-and-aft movement of the backrest is what you get by moving the support bar (the upper position is further back).

My Father-in-Law picked up a generic back-rest at a swap-meet and then fabricated an old rail road spike for the mounting post. It worked perfectly for his seat and is sold as a rock. On his Corbin he the spike fit perfect, he simply did a little grinding, smoothing, and had it chromed. Cost him less than $10 plus chroming for whole deal. Beats the Corbin price!

I've got the large oval and small solid back rests. I much prefer the small solid rest. Seems to support the lower back much more. Haven't used the other in two years.

Thanks for the idea. I think I'll be on the lookout for a generic back-rest and mount something similiar to what you described...since it will only be on for long travel. $200 is waaaay to $$$$.

Hope you haven't been waiting long, didn't realize it's been almost a week since I've been here. I could always use some gas money, pm me.
