I think it was Samuel Clements who said, "I would never trust a man who didn't have some petty vice".

He was smarter than I so, I'll take his advice.

I have watched so many folks smoke and drink, and live to be well into their 90s that I have my doubts about how bad a moderate habit is.
A cigar or pipe in the evenings or to celebrate along with a glass of good liquor is a far cry from a pack of cigarettes and two six packs a day habit.
Moderation may well be the key to a long and happy life.
