Ya see, I TOO grew up watchin' Robert Young and Hugh Beaumont dispensing sage and mannered parental advice to their TV children back in the '50s and '60s, and WAY before people like Roseanne came on the scene.
(...and yet I STILL turned out like THIS!!!!!)
Yeah, ya got a point, Dwight! But maybe it was one of those OTHER influences that helped form ya. Like throwing out parental discipline techniques that had been used successfully for a couple thousand years and supplanting them with modern psyco-babble like "self-esteem" building. Cause ya sure got plenty of THAT!
