I'm changing out my chrome rails on the back of the bike. What size is the large nut where the upper part of the shock attaches? My largest wrench was 24mm and it's bigger than that.  Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

I don't know about 30mm but mine are big and brass.

I should have said it is 30mm on an 08 America. Not brass on mine, just steel

Go get youself a nice dial caliper in the nice lil' plaxtic case. They is sorta cheap and they is a useful member of yo tools. You jest skweeze the peenchers on the item, and the dial as well as the beam will indicate the ID an OD of all sortsa stuff, in MM and eenches. Yes, get one.
