I agree with Bill. Bearing failure is not a regular occurrance. I did have to replace a front at about 14K but I am convinced it was a premature and unusual thing. there was no sound or vibe. Was found while getting a front tire. The bearing was heavily rusted and pitted. When removed I could feel the grinding while rolling on my finger tip. My wrench said his opinion was cast wheels were the culprit in some cases because condensation in the hub is greater. I don't necessarily buy that though. I think the premature failure was more likely due to seal failure that allowed moisture in - either the result of manufacture or assembly. Anyway, never a problem since and I know no one with a similar situation. Have about 40K on the replacement.
