Got home yesterday from 5 day run to NSW for the Viet Nam vets run in Murrurundi. On way down taking sweeping left hander at speed and close to inside edge (riding in staggered formation) had a milli second to wonder how such a big black rock got on to the road before I heard the crunch. Next thing side stand is hitting the road with sparks flying. Mates went back and found the very dead turtle and my side stand spring which was the worse for wear. Fortunate the front wheel missed him and the under carriage of the bike took the impact as I think the consequences would have been far worse for me. Managed to pick up a spring from a trail bike shop that with a bit of modification does the job and a lot stronger than the original two springs which are both very light gauge. Never had this one before but will be keeping an eye out in future!!!!!!!!! Lucky the america also has a centre stand.
