Yep, I know what you guys mean here, and I didn't mean to denigrate our rides. These beautiful babies are VERY well made, reliable, smooth-running, and very good handling for a stretched-out/long wheelbase motorcycle.

It's just that the longer I own my BA, and while I still love her and will probably NEVER sell her, I sometimes think of a comparison test with one of the Sporsters(can't remember if it was the 883 or the 1200) that was in either CW or Motorcylist magazine years ago, and in which even though they DID ultimately pick the BA as their choice, there was sort of a caveat at the beginning of the article that read: "While the Triumph Bonneville America LOOKS like "The Wild One", its performance is definitely more "The Mild One.", and I believe there's no denying the truth of those words.
