I've seen a lot of you out there looking for a good helmet lock. I just got one of these and it looks good and works great. I just thought someone might like the information. Helmet Guardian

Hey Wayne thanks for the info, it looks neat.
To ask a question and add some more info:
Has anyone tried the bar-end type from KewlMetal?

I have never seen one of these on a bike. I don't like the way you helmet hangs when in the lock. It's upside down and open territory for what ever might fall or be put in it. With the guardian it hangs side ways with the opening toward the fender.

That looks a little scary to me. Someone touches/moves your handlebars and the helmets bang into the tank. I have a cheap bicycle cable lock and hang mine under the bike if necessary. I also have the Saddlemen bags which lock. I can loop one helmet over each buckle, put the lock on the buckle and the helmet is secure as is the contents in the bags. Wouldn't leave it overnight that way, but at a show, parking, etc. they are fine.

I got the helmet lock from Newspeedmaster.com Installed it where my stock turn signal goes with a slightly longer bolt and it works great. Helmet sits on the mirror and is locked in place with the chrome lock. Doesn't look too bad, gonna change it to the low side mirror, so it is not the first thing you see when parked.....

Found a black one at British-USA, and mounted it on the foot control bar, just right of center. You wouldn't ever see it down there - looks like it belongs there. After burning a finger on the right header a couple of times, that hasn't happened now for months. Keeps the helmet off the ground, and no problem keeping it away from the hot parts. Helmet is turned so that the open side is towards the oil cooler, and I've even stowed my gloves in there, too. Only downside I know is if it rains, or some dog comes wandering by. Guess the rain would pose the same problem wherever it was mounted - unless turned totally upright when locked. Works for me.
