I actually loved my old Kramer w/ FR Trem. you just have to get used to putting the strings on and dealing with the primary adjustments, once that was done, all I had to do was tweak a fine tuner. wouldnt change strings for a few months at a time
But as far as keeping it simple,, yea, a fixed bridge. I even locked down the standard trem on the strat.
