Went to J.C.'s to check out tire prices. They really like their tires!!I'm looking at Dunlop D404 130/70/18. They want $195.76 verses 123.99 from Motorcycle Superstore! What's up with that?
Just an old Hippie and I don"t know what to do.

Good question. JCW used to be the place to go for low prices. Lot's of average stuff but inexpensive. I've noticed over the years they have lost the competitive edge they were known for, corporate greed I suppose.

Also maybe they don't have a lot of volume vs. Motorcycle Superstore. I didn't know they sold MC tires until this thread.

They ripped me off $300 when I was a young teen buying parts for my 51 Chevy truck. That was when they changed hands and restructured, prices started going up ever since.

Yeah, JC did this with some regularity in years past. Every few years they would "go into bankruptcy", and you got a letter from some lawyer outfit stating that you could get as much as %5 back if you signed on to a lawsuit. They burned me for $42, way back when I couldn't afford it. Screw"em!

I think they are hooked up with Harley Pricing. They use to deal with all brands, If you go over to the store in Ormond next to Harley at Destinatiom Daytona. See a lot of Harley parts and not much else.
I was so much older then, I am younger than that now (Wrote By Dylan Sung by the BYRDS,)

So where is a good place to get tires then? My lady needs some new shoes.

I always buy my tires from AMT - American Motorcycle Tire. Someone here turned me onto them and I've since bought probably over 50 tires from them. I can't imagine anyone beating them on price or service. I bought a couple of tires from them that I never used and ended up selling them for more on Ebay - can't beat that.

I also use americanmototire.com, although my last rear tire actually came from the dealer since they gave me a smoking price
