So its almost Hogmanay(New Years Eve to the uninitiated)and we've picked up a few things for a wee Hogmanay party we're having for a bunch of ExPats, mostly from Glasgow and Edinburgh and one token Englishman (my good mate Bob).the wife will be busy making steak pie and various other wee Scottish delights for dinner, before the bevvyin begins.
so i thought i would ask all you Lads n Lassies of BA.com how you all (or yawll) will be celebrating New Year .
below is a wee kit i put together to help celebrate my Hogmanay

Nice to see you're keeping the calories this New Year Gordie, what with that sugar free Irn-Bru and all!

Looks like the makings for a good time, just add a bunch of friends and family and that's all you need.

Happy New Year!!

Countdown in just over 4 hours here...

Having dinner with wife, then heading out (taxi) to our annual gathering at a local pub where I introduced them, a few years ago, to a local recipe from where I grew up.... Sage (English: wise one)

1/2 Jack Daniel. 1/2 Sambuca. Starts a party alright! And keeps you warm for the night! (with plenty of sugar from the sambuca! ha!)

Happy New Year!

Being a fiscal conservative and the resident moral beacon of the greater Montana metroplex, I generally welcome (velkommen) the New Year with a little Ma Baensch's pickled herring on a saltine cracker to ensure good luck.

Some years I lose my head and have a glass of fermented grain products, aka Bayern Amber Ale

Cheers and good fortune to all across the BA.Com land

Put out sandbags on Christmas Day to stop the rainwater coming into the house. gas supply cut off Saturday night because a blown water main took out the gas main and filled it with water - not sure when heating and cooking will come back. Holding a dinner party for twelve tonight and have shared out the cooking - wife has done a wonderful job getting it all together.
That said there are an awful lot of people worse off than us and I hope that they end everyone on BA.com has a happy and successful new year.
