Just be sure to have a tie-down strap to keep your bike steady when she's up in the air.
What I do for that is slide the jack in BEHIND the oil filter so the rear pad is almost touching the rear wheel. Then lift it up just enough to put the bike upright, basically like a center stand. Plenty of room for an oil pan then.
