I picked up a Harbor Freight one last weekend. I really just need it for oil changes and chain maintenance... But what's nice is I can roll the bike against the wall! FLOOR SPACE!
I got a Harbor Freight bike lift about 5 years ago as a Christmas present, thinking the same thing. Chain maintenance is a breeze, oil change was a mess of a disaster. Just not practical to fit an oil pan underneath. It ran/dripped everywhere. I'm thinking of making up one of those cheap wood lifts for next oil change. Just be sure to have a tie-down strap to keep your bike steady when she's up in the air.
