I choose to live in perpetual poverty in exchange for something I've never had, time. I retired today!
To soon to tell yet but I think I'm gonna like this.

Well Terry, in THAT case I only have ONE suggestion for you to heed now that you've joined the ranks of the retired.

Do NOT now begin to spend an inordinate amount of your time sittin' in front that computer of yours and endlessly typing stuff into this website.

(...and need I tell you WHY I'm giving you this little suggestion???...nah, I didn't think so)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Nah, there won't be much sitting around. I have a long list of things I need to do and that don't even compare to the list my lovely has for me to do. What I want to do is get a little wood shop together, spend time in the woods cutting fire wood etc. and after winter is past I want to get in a lot more ridin.

Congratulations Terry! Enjoy yourself, you have earned it. Now I know we'll see you at the NE rally this fall because the "I'm to busy with work" excuse wont hold water!

I tried to retire a couple years ago. Unfortunately, I have a unique skill set that is very beneficial for helping hearing impaired children acquire hearing and language abilities. It's very difficult to say 'no' when I am approached by their parents.

Don't get me wrong, as curses go it's a really good one to have. But it makes going off in other directions, which I have with the two companies I have incorporated in the past three years, very difficult.

So, my retirement consists of trying to cut my hours back. At least the money is good.

Hey Carl, I'm sure I'll be there this year. Last year was the only year I missed since 2005 and I wasn't happy about that.

I see your point, I have a feeling you'll never be retired from that, and that probably is a good thing.

Congratulations! I retired in August 2009 and have never been bored. Traveling and working on my house, boats and bikes keep me too busy. You'll like it. Merry Christmas!

Congratulations, Terry. I'm really happy for you. Maybe we'll get a chance to wear out some rubber this year - If you get your chore list worked down a bit.

Time trumps money every time, in my book. Glad you can retire. You made the right decision.
